At this stage I am really looking forward to my summer break. But before I go away for four weeks, I’d like to let you know what’s going to be happening during the Summer here at the NAZ in Greystones. Currently I am preaching a little follow-up series on the Prodigal God, called “Living as Sons and Daughters of God”. The first Sermon on Pentecost Sunday had the title “The Spirit of Sonship”. We hope soon to be able to put them online so you can download them and listen to them.
This coming Saturday, 18th of June, a concert in aid of Teen Challenge Ireland will be happening at our church. Start is 8pm, admission 5 €. Local musicians like Marion Smith and her Gospel Choir, Luke Carrig, Salome Stephens and many others will be performing. A few testimonies from guys who went through the program will add to the evening. This is a great opportunity to enjoy wonderful music and to support God’s work.
On the 26th we will have the “End of the Year Sunday School Service” and officially end the Sunday School curriculum for the year. After that the Summer Children’s Program will start. In June we also expect the arrival of the Morley’s family. Steven Morley will be acting as Church Planting Coordinator for the South of Ireland.
July 3rd will be my last Sunday before the break. After that Rev. Paul Dempsey will be preaching for the rest of July, morning and evening, with one exception: 17th of July in the morning a team of CSSM will be doing the service. In July Paul Dempsey agreed to act as a point of contact in emergency situations and offer pastoral assistance where needed. His contact details will be printed in the bulletin. He may also post some blogs on the website. I believe this is going to be a great blessing for the Church and I am really grateful that he agreed to take all of July.
In August I will be back preaching. In the last week of August we plan to run a Children’s Summer Club at the Church, ending with a family fun day on Saturday 27th of August. So, as you see, a lot to look forward to this Summer.
I wish everyone a blessed Summer, restful holidays and a time of physical and emotional replenishment.
