This Sunday we are going to celebrate Holy Communion together. I will end the Sermon Series on the book of Philippians by focusing on the passage in Philippians 3:10-11. “I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.” This passage speaks of a deep personal relationship that Paul had with Christ, an ever growing experiential knowledge of the person of Christ, a connection on a heart level that dominated all his life. Knowing Christ, knowing God by experience – that is the goal of salvation. What a powerful truth that is that we, finite human beings, can come to know the eternal, almighty, powerful God in an intimate, personal way. There is nothing in all creation that can compete with that.
